Blow your candle...

Hello!

I hope you are not bored of my cards. This is the last one this week, I promise.

I am using dragon and cupcake digital stamp that I colored using pencils. I thought I had the colors but apparently I don't. And since I colored it a while ago...I don't remember if I did it with prismacolor or with Faber Castell polychromos. If I find the colors somewhere, I will post the chart in my Pinterest page.

The background was embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and the sentiment is from one of my clear stamps.

I hope you like the card and you have a wonderful weekend!

Hugs,

Patricia

Kraft card with a cupid

Kraft tag with happy cupid digital stamp

Hello!

I love this image (is that a bad thing to say when I draw it?). Anyway. I had to color it again and I tried this time using prismacolor pencils in kraft cardstock.

The image is called Happy Cupid (from my last release in January). The sentiment I don't know where it came from. Well, I know where, I bought it in Goodwill but it was uncounted and I don't have a clue the brand. Sorry.

I hope you liked the tag!

Hugs,

Patricia

CAS card with a mermaid

CAS card using a mermaid digital stamp

Hi!!

For today I have this super simple CAS card. It is basically only the coloring of the stamp.

The digital stamp is called Mermaid in shell 2. Why? Because I already have a mermaid in shell from a while ago and I did a different version because hey, I improve with time...

I colored the image with copic markers. Here are the colors:

I hope you liked the card!

Birthday card with a little unicorn

Birthday card using Unicorn with cotton candy digital stamp

Hello!

I am back today with this birthday card I made. I don't usually make cards with patterned paper, but I love it, so I have a lot in my Stash. I will try to use it more often because if not...what I am supposed to do with it?

For the card I am using Unicorn with cotton candy digital stamp, colored with copic markers. The sentiment is from Happy Little Stampers and I cut the white panel with a die cut from CC Designs.

I hope you liked the card!

Hugs,

Patricia

Teacher appreciation card with a dog

Hello!

This week I am sponsoring Passionate Paper Creations Facebook group and I decided to post a card for each day I am sponsoring. Hey... what I can do I do. I don't even believe that I had the time, but I actually dedicated one day to make projects, although if I post so often I will be done soon.

For the card I am using one clear stamp set from Stampendous for the sentiment and the background. I don't know the name but it is one that has Changuito and things form the school. I use it quite often I think (taking into account that I hardly ever use any at all haha).

The little dog is one of the dogs from my set at Kinda Cute by Patricia Alvarez called Dog digital stamp set (so ingenious!). And the graduation cap is... a stamp that I made and I didn't released yet and I don't  know when I am going to do it but better do it soon. I guess it is nice that if I need something I can just draw it and use it. I don't do this very often because it is kind of unfair that I have it and you know but...life.

I hope you liked the card and you have a wonderful day!

Hugs,

Patricia

My first pop up card

Hello!

I am back again with a new card. In this case is a mini card. 2.5x2.5 inches folded. And this is the first pop up card that I made. It only took me one hour and a half (and the little cat was already colored). I loved making it but i really need to be faster at it haha.

The cat is from a stamp set of Paper Smooches called Chubby Chums. I have this set for a very long time. I love it! I cut the pop up and the rectangles where the sentiments are with dies from Lawn Fawn and My Favorite Things.

The sentiment "make a wish is from one of my stamps sets, you can find it here. The Happy birthday sentiment I don't recall. I made this card a long time ago and I don't usually write down the stamps I use. Besides, I have a lot of sets of dies and stamps where I don't have written where they came from!

The little cat was colored with watercolors in watercolor paper. I should do more watercolors, they are fun, but it takes so long to finish...

I hope you liked the little card. Have a great day!!

Hugs,

Patricia

CAS Valentine's day card

Hello!!

I am back with another card using an image for the new release, available in a couple of days at the store

I used the digital stamp called Cupid and marshmallow. I colored it with Copic markers and cut it with scissors. I used foam tape to glue it to the card base.

The card base is made using a splatter of green and red watercolors and I added with red markers a frame. The sentiment was stamped with black ink and it is a stamp from Hero Arts.

Thank you for stopping by!

Hugs,

Patricia

I am going to enter this card to the following challenges:

I am back! And I have a preview of my new release

Valentine's card using Happy Cupid digital stamp

Happy New Year!!!

New year...new things...changes....

I know I told you that I wasn't going to continue with my blog a few months ago. I made a couple of polls and apparently people would be very happy if I continue Kinda Cute Cards, so I am back. Also, I have been very busy during these months and I have new projects made that I never showed to anybody and it is just sad.

So... in this past few months I have been working in my store as much as I could, although it is never enough. I tried to have fun and I have to admit, that at some moments it wasn't much fun. Moments where I though "why I am doing this?". Fortunately, although sometimes there are doubts, I manage to keep at it. To be honest, the digital stamps weren't part of my plan in the beginning of my business. Crafters asked me to sell my illustrations, and after thinking about it, I started selling clear and digital stamps. I will keep offering digital stamps for as long as I can, but I don't discard the idea of stop doing it in the future if I can't keep up with everything. I always wanted to design with my images, that is why I have my Zazzle shop and I sell printables in my store, but I want to illustrate a couple of children's books I have written too. This year I hope I can focus on designing and illustrating more seriously.

On a brighter note! I have a new release this month and it will be available on January 4th. I will have 4 new digital stamps and I will be showing them to you in the next four days.

For today's card I am using Happy Cupid digital stamp.  I colored it with Copic markers and I cut it out with scissors. The background is made using a clear stamp from Stampendous I think, from an alphabet set, and I color the hearts with markers too. In case you don't remember, I tend to do very CAS projects and I hardly ever use patterned paper. I am starting to use it more now. I do love embossing folders too.

I have a video coloring this image, but I still have to post it in my YouTube channel. I hope I can do that next week ;).

I hope you liked the card and I didn't bore you much with my rambling. Feel free to pin the color chart for future reference.

Have a great New Years day!

Hugs,

Patricia

Baby card with a little duck

Hello!

We have another challenge at Inspiration Destination and this time I sponsor the challenge so, if you want to win some kinda cute images, head to the blog and enter your creations.

On a sadder note, this will be my last challenge at Inspiration Destination. As you already know I am busy with a lot of thing. I am planning on not updating this blog or its related social media accounts. I have my other blog at kindacutebypatricia.blogspot.com where I showcase my stamps with the amazing work of my DT. I will be posting my projects there too when I have them, which, sadly, it is not too often :(. If you want to keep seeing my projects and what I am doing, follow me on Instagram or join my Facebook group.

Anyway, for this card I am using Little Duck clear stamp (although you can find it as digital stamp too). I colored it with distress inks. For the background I use some clear stamps from Fiskars, as well as the sentiment.

I hope you like the card and you have time to enter the challenge.

Hugs and see you around ;)

Using Prismacolor pencils for a birthday card

Prismacolor pencils birthday card using baker girl

Hello!

I hope you are doing well! Today I have this card using Baker girl clear stamp for our challenge over at Inspiration Destination. The theme is anything goes and the twist is to use a real stamp. So here it is.

I used prismacolor pencils. Feel free to pin the image for future reference. The embossing folder is from Darice and I don't remember which brand I used for the sentiment. Sorry about that.

I hope you like the card I have for today and you have time to enter to our challenge!

Sale on Digital Stamps, lots of mermaids!

Hi!!

I have been very quite lately... I have been working on a challenge last month on Instagram called MerMay. The challenge consisted in drawing a mermaid every day during the month of May. Well...I did it (at least the sketches) and I turned them all into digital stamps!

To celebrate that I manage to finished it, I have a great discount in all my digis for a limited time. Check the shop here to see new 31 mermaids and other new releases from last month. Use the coupon mermay to get a 50% in your order!

And that is all for today. It doesn't look like much but... there was a lot of work behind haha.

Hugs,

Patricia

Birthday shaker card

Hello everyone!!

Today I have a new card for the challenge at Inspiration Destination. The theme is Anything goes, as usual. I don't think there is a twist this time so I made a shaker card.

I am using a stamp from CC Designs called Surpise. It is so cute. I love the images. I colored it with Copic markers and add it to the card with foam tape.

The sentiment is a clear stamp from the set Baby with balloon from my shop. You can find it here

copic markers color chart for cc designs

Feel free to pin the chart for future reference. For some reason, I didn't write down the colors for the cupcake, haha.

Have a great rest of the week!

Hugs,

Patricia

This is me trying to follow a sketch...

Hello!!!

Today is another new challenge at Inspiration Destination and I have this card to show you. The theme is Anything goes but we have a twist that we have to follow a sketch. Well...I am not very good following sketches because...here it is mine and it is "more or less" like the sketch that we posted in the challenge. You can see it here.

Anyway...I tried and it was optional haha. I am using one of my clear stamps for this. This Ballerina clear stamp comes with bilingual sentiments (in English and Spanish) and I am using (obviously) only the English one.

I used a background paper that I embossed using a Fiskars plate. I cut the circles and rectangles with die cuts and the papers belong to my Easter Pastel digital paper set.

The image is colored with Copic markers and it is floating because I forgot to add some shadow. Seriously, I am forgetting very important things lately, like the floor in the images.

I hope you like the card and you have time to participate in the challenge this fortnight.

Baby card

Hi!!

For today's card I am using one of my favorite stamps sets from CC Designs. The set is called Once Upon. It comes with the princess, the knight, the dragon and the unicorn. So cute!

I colored the image with prismacolor pencils and I used mineral spirits. The background is made with distress inks and water drops.

Sorry but I don't know where the sentiment came from.

Remember that the May challenge in my Facebook group already started. Three digital stamps from my shop for the winner.

Have a great rest of the week!

Hugs,

Patricia

Monkey magician birthday card

card using monkey magician by Kinda Cute by Patricia Alvarez

Hello!

I made this card more than a year ago (probably two years) and I didn't share it (I think). You can find this set of digital stamps in my shop. The stamp set is called Monkey Magician

I think I got this request from someone at some point. Kind of like a birthday card with a monkey doing magic and a creepy trunk. Well.. I was very happy with the result (of the monkey) not much with the result of the trunk (I don't like creepy things).

As usual, when I get the assignment of drawing or making an specific kind of card it takes me forever to draw it and to make it and, although I give that card on time, I think I didn't share it (if I did, I am sorry).

The card opens to show the sentiment and, although it is kind of easy, I am sure I didn't got it right in the first try.

Well, I hope you like the card and inspiration that I have for today!

Hugs,

Patricia

And finally I made a card... a very simple one....

Hello!

Today I bring you a card I made using this cute image from Art by Barb called Under the sea. I love the image and it was quite a challenge to color it. I did it with Spectrum Noir and, although I posted the coloring video a long time ago, I didn't have time to show you the card I made with it.

Here is the video!

Have a great rest of the week!

Sending Hugs with an orca

Card using orca digital stamp kindacutebypatricia

Hello!!!

to end this month I have a new card for you. I am using Orca digital stamp

The background is made with an embossing folder. The back part (lower part?) is the regular embossing and the "blue" part is made using letterpress. I used the actual letterpress ink on the embossing folder and the result is so much better than with ink.

The sentiment is from one of my clear stamps sets called Girl and bear

I hope you liked the simple card I have for the day!!

Hugs,

Patricia

Sweet miss you card

Hi!!

This is one of the images that I colored a long time ago. I made the card a long time ago and I didn't post it (I think...).

I am using Paper doll Marci- bear hat rubber stamp and I colored it with copic markers. The background of the card is made with a splatter of gold watercolor.

I cut the image and I think it is one of my best fuzzy cuts, haha. I glued it to the top of the card using foam tape.

I hope you liked the card. Feel free to pin the color combination chart.

Remember that tomorrow is the last day of my Facebook challenge. You can participate join and participate here. The prize is 3 digital stamps from my store.

Hugs,

Patricia

Little mermaid

Hi!!

We have a new Anything goes at Inspiration Destination!!! Are you ready to enter your card?

I made this card using a digital stamp from Whimsie Doodles called Mermaid Abby. I colored this image like a long long time ago and I didn't made a card until now. Can you believe that? If I make cards with all the images I have colored I would probably have more than 70 done but...I am lazy haha. I like coloring more than making cards.

Anyway, I think I colored it with Copics and Spectrum Noir. It looks like the skin is copic and the hair is Spectrum Noir, but it has been so long ago that I can't remember and I don't have the colors written down.

I made the background with pigment inks and a cloud template that I made. I am pretty happy with the background.

I hope you like the card and you have time to enter our challenge!

Hugs,

Patricia

For ferret lovers

ferret digital stamp kindacutebypatricia.com

Hello!

Today I don't have a card (although it looks like it). This is just the front panel that will go on top of the card. I decided to start doing this and then when I use it I will add it to the card base. This way I always will have card bases ready and I will have panels ready.

Anyway, I am using this digital stamp from my store called ferret (so original uh?). I colored with spectrum noir markers. I am not very happy with the coloring but it is what it is.

I followed this sketch and it was super useful.

I used several diets and embossing folders for the design and a clear stamp in spanish from my set called mice set clear stamp. It is nice I can have it in Spanish now ;).

I hope you liked the "card"!

Hugs,

Patricia
